The Kiss That Would Last A Billion Years

Directors: Leon Giesen, Marcele Prins
Running Time: 52 minutes
The Netherlands 2003

1977.  Two spaceships were launched at a distance of 14 billion kilometres from Earth at the border of solar system.

On board they carry ‘The Message of Mankind’, a golden record meant for aliens, containing music, sound images and photographs.

This message gives an answer to the question: What is the essence of humanity’. Or rather ‘was’ since the moment the Voyagers could reach another inhabited planet in space, Earth will no longer exist anymore.

The film pictures a hilarious and touching image of mankind in general and of the creators of the message in particular.
