Post Screening Discussion with Director
Filmed over three years, the film follows Helen Steel and Dave
Morris as the anonymous campaigners turn into unlikely global
heroes.
Struggling to defend themselves in the longest trial in English
history, they face infiltration by spies, secret meetings with
corporate executives, 40,000 pages of background reading and a
visit from Ronald McDonald.
McLibel shows how hamburgers represent the remorseless power of
multinational corporations. The issues of nutrition, animals,
advertising, employment, the environment, and freedom of speech
are addressed head-on.
