Hull's Angel
Director: Sean McAllister
Running time: 50 minutes
UK 2002
Post Screening Discussion with Director
Khaled is half Tinas age when they meet and move into together.
He fled to Britain after being shot seven times by Saddams
men and left for dead in a body bag.
Tina spends her days trying to help Hulls 1500 asylum seekers,
while Khaled has his own ideas. A riveting, finely observed portrayal
of survival and resourcefulness.
Sean McAllister studied at the National Film and Television School
in Beaconsfield, England from 1990 specialising in documentary
making. He graduated in 1995 with a film Hitting 30 and has since
worked alone on the small digital video cameras. He is a distinctive
voice bringing the spotlight onto contemporary sidelined issues.
