Hull's Angel

Director: Sean McAllister
Running time: 50 minutes
UK 2002

Post Screening Discussion with Director

Khaled is half Tina’s age when they meet and move into together. He fled to Britain after being shot seven times by Saddam’s men and left for dead in a body bag.

Tina spends her days trying to help Hull’s 1500 asylum seekers, while Khaled has his own ideas. A riveting, finely observed portrayal of survival and resourcefulness.

Sean McAllister studied at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, England from 1990 specialising in documentary making. He graduated in 1995 with a film Hitting 30 and has since worked alone on the small digital video cameras. He is a distinctive voice bringing the spotlight onto contemporary sidelined issues.

Filmography:
Working For The Enemy (BBC Television 1997). Nominated for Royal Television Society Award); Shoot Out In Swansea: BBC Television 1997; Minders BBC Television 1999; Nominated for Royal Television Society Award
