Leaving her native country for the first time, a young Chinese
writer wanders on a mountain in Wales.
Through the people she meets she enters a dream like world where
memories of Beijing and a childhood in a poor fishing village
return to her. She contemplates loneliness and is unexpectedly
haunted by stories of tragic death.
Xiaolu Guo graduated from the Beijing Film Academy in 2000 in
screen writing and film theory. She has published several novels
and many articles, her most recent book "Village Of Stone"
will be published in English by Random House and in French by
Philippe Picquier in the Winter of 2003.
Xiaolu screenwriting credits include Love in the Internet
Age (1999) which received the Best Screenwriting Award at
the 1999 Chinese National Film Awards; House (1999), which was
an independent feature film by Wang Xiaoshuai who directed 'The
Days' and 'Beijing Bicycle'; 'Bamboo Blossom' (2002) an independent
film by director Wang Guangli who also directed 'Go for Broke'.
