Post Screening Discussion With Director
When giant waves in Asia killed nearly 300,000 people, an urgent appeal for help went out across the world. 5,000 miles away in South Wales, a clown answered that call. The death toll was greater than the whole population of his home town of Swansea. In the book of clowns, Kingsley Perera stands out as the only Asian clown registered in Britain. In this film, we follow him as he goes back to his roots in Sri Lanka where years of unrest have killed twice as many people as lost their lives in the tsunami. Kingsley (Theeko the Clown) can’t suppress his natural desire to entertain and, if only for one day, it brings people together for one purpose, to laugh.
