Post Screening Discussion With Director
The mountains of Northeast India, 2003 – but the Garos, an indigenous tribe, cultivate rice just as it was done 6000 years ago. The problem is that the seeds they used in the past are no longer available and they have to use hybrid ones, which are not so suitable for present soil conditions. They struggle to survive and feed their children. There are many driving forces in life the common folk have to deal with: the headmaster of the village, the money without which they cannot survive, the Gods, and the local merchants. A film that reflects a society that values life and the natural order of things.
