  Magnificent Obsession:
Frank Lloyd Wrights Buildings and Legacy in Japan
Directors: Karen Severns, Koichi Mori
Running Time: 90 minutes
Japan 2004

2005 marks the centenary of Frank Lloyd Wright’s first visit to Japan, the only other country in which America’s greatest architect lived and worked. This is the story that no one else has told. It traces Wright’s magnificent obsession with Japan - and Japan’s obsession with him– from 1890-2003, featuring historic and new film footage, hundreds of rare and unpublished photos, drawings and plans, and extensive interviews with Wright specialists and the descendants of his Japanese colleagues.

Screening: 22 October at 6.30 p.m.: Maison Francaise
