Human Interest/Social Issues :: USA 2007

Why do we need to wax? In this playfully conceived documentary, we are taken on a journey of human depilation upto the invention of wax, which was secretly invented in New York. This very amusing film uses split screens where predominantly female interviewees get the chance to talk, either to one another or all at the same time. There's a gynaecologist who describes and demonstrates what can go wrong, the beautician who explains 'merkins' and in the midst of the comedy, they have interlaced the serious question of where waxing comes from and where it will lead to.
