Q & A with the Director

In the early 1960s, pilot and pioneer Jerri Truhill became one of the so-called Mercury 13 – a group of women selected by NASA to become the country's first female astronauts. Set against the momentous era in American history, this is an intimate portrait of the sharp witted Truhill and explores a unique chapter in American culture and society.
Stylised, dreamlike sequences are interwoven with archive material from NASA and interviews with Truhill herself, a woman who refused to be constrained by the era she lived in or the industry she worked in.
