Politics/Human Interest/Social Issues ::
USA 2008
Winner of the Best Documentary Feature at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival in New York, the film is a gripping account of a group of brave and visionary women who demanded peace for Liberia, a nation torn to shreds by civil war. In a war partially caused by religious issues, the unique aspect about this movement is that it includes both Christian and Mulim women. As one women said 'Does the bullet know Christians from Muslims?' Contemporary interviews, archival images and scenes of present day Liberia are interspersed to recount their inspirational and historic achievement.
